New Initiative launched at Family Housing Association

Family Housing Association Tenants’ Panel has launched a new initiative which is the culmination of two years of successful developments in Tenant participation.

Service Assessors (SAs), known elsewhere as Tenant Inspectors, are a group of eight tenants who will be assisting the Association with the review of its services. The Association has a draft set of service standards which the Service Assessors will be using to plan their evaluations.

The group has undergone intensive training by Maria Round of the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS), Cymru which has equipped the SAs with the skills to use a variety of methods, such as mystery shopping and tenant interviews and surveys. The training was made possible by financial contributions from Family Housing as well as some of the Association’s contractors, namely : Cowlin, Service Total, Seal UPVC and Gibsons .

The Panel was also successful in a bid for grant funding from Trafford Hall in Chester.
